So very sad to find this out. And so very late. Derek cast me in various things over the years. Him and director Andrew Morgan were old pals and came together to see a play I was doing at The Bush. I left London in 2008 and returned to Scotland but would often be back in London and Derek would get me in for Casualty. Had many a drink with him and dear Gareth Hunt too. I’m jut so sad to discover he passed. Derek was such a gentle, calm soul. with a calming, soulful voice and always a sparkle in his eye! Very sad news. And doubly so that I feel so removed. in terms of time and geography. Well I hope he’s having fun on some other plane. Rest in Peace Derek. xx
