As at the time of writing Derek’s funeral is planned to be a very low key affair with just a handful of friends and family present. It is hoped that a memorial service will be held in the spring of 2022 when COVID restrictions are lifted and everyone is safer. Derek was a firm supporter of the NHS and did everything within his power to ‘stop the spread’.

UPDATE
Derek’s funeral was very private with just family and a handful of friends present. Later on, in May 2022 a get together was held in the West End for 20-30 close friends and acquaintances. The day was was filled with stories and memories shared by all who were present and we all raised a glass to our friend who had given opportunities to a countless number of actors throughout his career.
