Derek was a good friend to me over many years, beginning at Watford Palace Theatre, where I was Assistant Manager 1970/71. I went on to work as a radio presenter and freelance ‘voice’ and was grateful that Derek found me assignments from time to time. I can confirm his age, since I dj’d his 21st birthday party – which took me back to Watford Palace Theatre!
