Derek and I knew each other during his time working at Zenith. I was the young, cheeky and ambitious PM on the factual shows and he was Casting Director on The Famous Five. We shared a lot of banter in the office and very much enjoyed a glass or two of white wine of an evening. Many happy Friday evenings were spent at Hardy’s by Zenith followed by a late trip to Joe Allen’s where the ‘not on the menu’ cheeseburgers were devoured with yet more wine.
I have such fond memories of those times and the good humour and kindness Derek showed to everyone he worked with.
I am so sad to learn about his passing. Love to all his close friends and family.
